The Between the Covers book group meets the first Tuesday of each month at 10 am. Anyone is welcome.

Fall discussion titles:

  • September: Normal People by Sally Rooney
  • October: West with Giraffes by Lynda Rutledge
  • November: Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver (available on hoopla)

Winter discussion titles:

  • December: Hamnet by Maggie O'Farrell

When a title is a part of a Book Club Kit, it will be ready for pick-up the month before it is discussed. Copies may be picked up in person or by hold at any Metro Library Network location. Contact Amy Golly at gollya@crlibrary.org if you need assistance finding books.

About the branch

The Downtown Library is located at 450 5th Avenue SE, in the heart of Downtown Cedar Rapids. It is a 94,000 square foot building with a variety of civic spaces and a vibrant collection of library materials. Special features of this location are the Whipple Auditorium, a 200 seat auditorium overlooking Greene Square; and the LivingLearning Roof, a green roof with public seating and space to hold special events. Roasters Café is located in the Downtown Library, providing a full service coffee shop for visitors, as well as catering for meetings and special events.
