October 5th: More Than Just Monarchs:- Meaghen MacDougal LCMG

How to Bring A Plethora of Pollinators to Your Garden -Make a beautiful garden that will be the envy of the neighborhood and the favorite hang-out for vital pollinators.  As a Pollinator Steward, I have created both private and public bird and pollinator gardens in two states.  Whether you want wild-and-wooly or something your HOA will love, you can have a gorgeous and helpful pollinator paradise!  And we won't forget the Monarchs:  what to plant, what to look for, and how to raise your "cats" for the next generation.

October 12th: How to move perennials-Wanda Lunn LCMG

Plant new flowers and yet keep your pollinators happy.

October 19th: Living with Bambi - Karla McGrail, LCMG

McGrail shares tips and strategies to help you live with these appealing troublemakers.  It is possible to have a beautiful garden with deer in your neighborhood.  

October 26th: Fall Garden Activities “Putting your Landscape to Bed” Wil Carew LCMG

Will cover fall activities that can be done as the growing season wraps up.  Also, what can be done to prepare for spring to lessen the load and provide for that burst of color early in the year.

About the branch

The Downtown Library is located at 450 5th Avenue SE, in the heart of Downtown Cedar Rapids. It is a 94,000 square foot building with a variety of civic spaces and a vibrant collection of library materials. Special features of this location are the Whipple Auditorium, a 200 seat auditorium overlooking Greene Square; and the LivingLearning Roof, a green roof with public seating and space to hold special events. Roasters Café is located in the Downtown Library, providing a full service coffee shop for visitors, as well as catering for meetings and special events.
