The Between the Covers book group meets the first Tuesday of each month at 10 am. If you enjoy reading and good conversation in a relaxed atmosphere, then this is the book group for you. Anyone is welcome.

Spring Titles:

  • April Discussion - The Dutch House by Ann Patchett. 
  • May Discussion - Widowland by C.J. Carey. This title is available on hoopla - there is no Book Club Kit.

Summer Titles: 

  • June Discussion - How High We Go in the Dark by Sequoia Nagamatsu
  • July Discussion - Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro
  • August Discussion - The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles. This title is available on CloudLibrary.

About the branch

The Downtown Library is located at 450 5th Avenue SE, in the heart of Downtown Cedar Rapids. It is a 94,000 square foot building with a variety of civic spaces and a vibrant collection of library materials. Special features of this location are the Whipple Auditorium, a 200 seat auditorium overlooking Greene Square; and the LivingLearning Roof, a green roof with public seating and space to hold special events. Roasters Café is located in the Downtown Library, providing a full service coffee shop for visitors, as well as catering for meetings and special events.
