Middle & High School Students and Their Parents! Learn about the possibilities in careers related to STEM with professional Latino/a engineers and the TRIO Educational Opportunity Center.
¡Estudiantes de escuela media y preparatoria y sus padres! Descubran las posibilidades con carreras relacionadas al CTIM con ingenieros profesionales latinos y el Centro de Oportunidad Educacional TRIO.
Este programa está diseñado para apoyar a las familias hispanohablantes que quizás no están pendientes de todas las posibilidades para latinos en carreras CTIM.
Esta será una presentación multilingüe, principalmente en español, que incluirá un taller centrado en el planeta marte, el cual se encuentra en la frontera de la exploración espacial.
El Centro de Oportunidad Educacional TRIO también estará disponible para consultar con los jóvenes y sus adultos acerca de recursos para asistir a la escuela post-preparatoria, el desarrollo profesional, y la adquisición de habilidades.
Es necesario inscribirse: Un niño y un padre por inscripción debido a que las provisiones son limitadas.

This program is intended to help support Spanish-speaking families that might not know about all the possibilities for Latino/as in STEM Careers.
This will be a multilingual presentation, mostly in Spanish, which will include a workshop focusing on the planet Mars, which is on the frontier of space exploration.
The TRIO Educational Opportunity Center will also be available for consulting with youth and their adults about resources for attending post-secondary school, professional development and skill acquisition.
Registration is required: One child and one parent per registration as supplies are limited.

The Downtown Library is located at 450 5th Avenue SE, in the heart of Downtown Cedar Rapids. It is a 94,000 square foot building with a variety of civic spaces and a vibrant collection of library materials. Special features of this location are the Whipple Auditorium, a 200 seat auditorium overlooking Greene Square; and the LivingLearning Roof, a green roof with public seating and space to hold special events. Roasters Café is located in the Downtown Library, providing a full service coffee shop for visitors, as well as catering for meetings and special events.
