The Cedar Room brings together all-genre writers of all ages in the Cedar Rapids area to share and write in a safe, supportive, and creative space.
Calling all writers! The Cedar Room brings together all-genre writers of all ages in the Cedar Rapids area to share and write in a safe, supportive, and creative space. All are welcome, at whatever stage of the writing journey you are in!
The Cedar Room is an offspring of the Iowa Writers' House, a community literary organization dedicated to creating a space for education, support, and resources for writers. Its Writers' Rooms (The Violet Realm, The Rainbow Room, The Great Green Room, The Scarlet Room, The Cedar Room) are sub-communities of the house that bring together writers of shared interests or genres to free-write, respond to prompts, learn together, and find support for their work.
The Cedar Room meets from 6-8 pm the second Wednesday of the month at the Downtown Library.
