Reading and good conversation in a relaxed atmosphere

The Between the Covers book group meets the first Tuesday of each month at 10 am. If you enjoy reading and good conversation in a relaxed atmosphere, then this is the book group for you. Anyone is welcome.

Winter reading discussion titles: 

  • Dec. 3: “The Midnight Library” by Matt Haig 
  • Jan. 7: “The Comfort of Crows” by Margaret Renkl 
  • Feb. 4: “The Last Thing He Told Me” by Laura Dave 

When a title is a part of a Book Club Kit, it will be ready for pick-up the month before it is discussed. Other titles are available on Hoopla and CloudLibrary. Copies may be picked up in person or by hold at any Metro Library Network location. Contact Amy Golly at gollya@crlibrary.org if you need assistance finding books.

About the branch

The Downtown Library is located at 450 5th Avenue SE, in the heart of Downtown Cedar Rapids. It is a 94,000 square foot building with a variety of civic spaces and a vibrant collection of library materials. Special features of this location are the Whipple Auditorium, a 200 seat auditorium overlooking Greene Square; and the LivingLearning Roof, a green roof with public seating and space to hold special events. Roasters Café is located in the Downtown Library, providing a full service coffee shop for visitors, as well as catering for meetings and special events.
