About Katie Hopkins:

Katie is an Iowa native and always looking for something new to research about its history.

She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts Degree in history (specialization in Civil War history) in 2010 from the University of Northern Iowa, which ultimately lead to her interest in the paranormal. Katie is the Vice President of the Benton County Historical Society Board of Directors.

She met her husband because of the paranormal field. Josh was managing the tours at Edinburgh in 2012, and Katie went for an investigation with her team that she was with at that time. She has been involved in the paranormal since 2012, as a paranormal investigator and managing haunted locations. Her paranormal experiences have taken her on many journeys. She has been featured on numerous news stations and YouTube shows. Katie, along with her husband Josh, were also a part of the Edinburgh Manor episode of “Ghost Adventures.” She has also been featured on “My Ghost Story” on the Bio Channel. She has been to many haunted locations in the United States to investigate, the farthest being Old South Pittsburg Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She plans to continue her research for a very long time and hopes to find the answers so many long to know about the paranormal.

Katie’s publications include “Seeing Spirits: Opening the Empathic Door,” “Visions from the Afterlife,” “From Past to Present: The History of Benton County, Iowa,” and "Iowa Haunted Corridor," written with her husband. Books will be available for purchase after the presentation – and you can chat with Katie and get them signed.
