Tapping into your community with the Cedar Rapids Public Library and Iowa Brewing Company
Program Details:
September we'll be sewing circuits! Make buttons, cuffs and objects of your choice with fabric, conductive thread and LED lights to let your style shine.
October we'll welcome Lars Voltz and Justin Vasey, visual artists, to discuss their work in ceramics and multiple medias to contribute to our community of local art.
November we'll have the opportunity to hear stories from the voice of the author... The Writers' Room is coming to the Tap Room to share works and discuss their writing process.
Events will take place at Iowa Brewing Company, 708 3rd St SE, just down the street from the library.
The Downtown Library is located at 450 5th Avenue SE, in the heart of Downtown Cedar Rapids. It is a 94,000 square foot building with a variety of civic spaces and a vibrant collection of library materials. Special features of this location are the Whipple Auditorium, a 200 seat auditorium overlooking Greene Square; and the LivingLearning Roof, a green roof with public seating and space to hold special events. Roasters Café is located in the Downtown Library, providing a full service coffee shop for visitors, as well as catering for meetings and special events.
